Valerie Jeffery Gallagher was born in Carcliff, Wales and spent her early years in Bristol, England. She later immigrated with her father to Canada where they settled in Halifax, Novia Scotia.  There she met and married Larry Gallagher and had five of her six children before transferring to Regina.  Valerie accompanied her daughter, Olywn, to an evening class where she was introduced to pen and ink. With encouragement from her husband, she continued to experiment with various media.  Valerie is a member of the Prairie Artists Guild and the Wheat City art Club.  Always looking for new challenges in different art media, Valerie attends as many art classes as she can. Valerie paints for pleasure.
