Born and raised in Regina, Kay, at an early age, showed a very keen interest in art. While in public school her work was chosen for display at the Regina Exhibition. Since then, her work has been extensively displayed locally. Taking instruction from Frank Kaszaz, Beth Gaffney, Ann Hunter, Alex Bleszynski, George Andrew, Jack Reid and Francis Schwartz, has led her to paint in a variety of media - oils, acrylics, pastels and watercolour. She paints a variety of subjects including mountain, prairie and ocean scenery, with a preference for beautiful prairie skies and flowers. Kay is one of the original members of the guild and also belongs to the Wheat City Art Club. Her paintings have been purchased by SGI and individuals as far away as Australia and England, as well as commissioned works.
