Williamina Joan (Mina-Jo) was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and was named after her Scottish Grandmother. She has lived on the prairies most of her life. Joan has always loved to draw and after her family was raised and she retired form the work force, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. After studying watercolour with local artists and abroad Joan joined the Prairie Artist's Guild and later the Rosemont Gallery (Now the Art Gallery of Regina). Joan has displayed and sold some of her work in the Guild Shows, as well as privately. During winters spent in Arizona, Joan enjoys participating in classes at the Arizona Northern University and also in park spring shows.
