Doreen was born and raised in Regina, Sask. and has always had great admiration and appreciation of the beautiful prairie skies. She had a busy life raising four children but always tried to get in some art classes over the years and for the past few years attended several workshops by both local and out-of-town artists. Doreen is presently a member of the Prairie Artists Guild, The Regina Art Gallery, and The Mackenzie Art Gallery. She started painting with oils and then went into watercolours as well. She has now expanded her works to include acrylics and inks. Enjoys doing landscapes and florals. One of her "Blue Moon" paintings was chosen for the Sherwood Credit Union calendars. Doreen signs all her paintings with a small star --- a symbol of inspiration in memory of her daughter Darcee.
